This award was created by The National K-12 Ceramic Exhibition Foundation and Alfred University to honor Alfred Professor Val Cushing, Chairman of Ceramic Arts, our juror in 2004, President of NCECA twice, and a man whose spirit and warmth spread across our community as a founding father. This Full Four Year Scholarship to Alfred fulfills our dream of extending his legacy each year through the hands and heart of one deserving young student whose work and deeds have earned them this honor.
