| Title: | A Story of Africa |
| Description: | This piece is inspired by my home Liberia. The shape of the coil pot is inspired by they would usually make the water pots in Liberia. The pots were designed to be big and round so they could hold as much water as possible. The trees on the pot represent the people of Africa and how we are so intertwined with each other. The colors of the trees compliment the brown base paint. I left the brush strokes and tool marks on the pot because I really wanted to get that natural look and to have it almost look like old hands painted it and I applied floor wax on the trees because I didn’t want it to be too shinny yet I wanted a smooth feeling. I then decided to use Emerald Falls on the pot because the chuckies reminded me of the stars in Liberia. I named the peace a story of Africa because there are many stories of Africa and this is just a little piece of it, it’s my piece and I want to share it with you. |
