I have been a volunteer for The National K-12 Ceramic Exhibition Foundation since 2000. Entering and having students accepted into the show has provided young artists joy, opportunity, and proud parents who support visual art education. Over the last 17 years, my students and I have been inspired, informed, and grateful to be included. Students have been affirmed of their talents and encouraged to pursue ceramics long after High School. As an educator and artist, my core teaching values were strengthened along side a deeper understanding of my personal investigation into clay. As a trustee, I intend to be an advocate for the meaningful work of K12 and the students they celebrate. I’m honored for the chance to be of service to The National K12 Ceramic Exhibition Foundation, Inc. I have a B.A. from Bradford College, an MFA from R.I.T. School of American Crafts, and apprenticed under The Ohi Chozaemon Family of Kanazawa, Japan. In 2013, I received the Regina Brown Teacher Development Award from the K12 Foundation. I have been a Visual Art Educator for high school aged students for the last 18 years.
