| Description: | As a child I was fascinated by animals and watched the "Wild Kratts" quite often. One fateful moment one of the episodes included a giant squid. I was fascinated that creatures that large were even real as I had only heard stories of the Kraken. My inspiration for this piece came from that episode and the mysterious beauty of the ocean deep. The gradient of light blue to black represents that depth with bubbles at the top like sea foam crashing above a monster squid. Wheelthrown and assembled pieces. Sgraffito and bubble surface with velvet underglazes. |
