Description:	Hand built, Amaco Velvet underglazes, Laguna B mix with grog, cone 10 reduction, glass etched areas of the high gloss celadon glaze, micron pen drawings, fixative spray to seal the micron pen drawing, This piece is a female figure most noticeably, with a fist-shaped uterus indicative of the fight for reproductive rights. The face looks like a mask to indicate that beneath the skin could be someone apart from what we see, and whoever that is, they have the right to own their body. It iterates the importance of protecting autonomy itself which includes reproductive rights. Drawn on top are images of nature melded with the human body and manufactured items. The flowers in general signify femininity and connect to the fact of a body independent of stigma. On the back, the lilies of the valley and coat hanger remind of blood shed and the blood that will be shed, hinging on access to safe abortion and birth control. Overall, this piece is a reminder that no one understands the gravity of holding a new life better than someone with that power and it remains in their hands.
