Title: Calamity and Isolation
Description: This piece is a slab built vase done using the sgraffito technique. The shape itself was meant to instill a feeling of discomfort as it squeezes in at the center. At the top of the form there is an outline of a cityscape for a hint at the setting. On one side there are many symbols of inter connectivity: a murder of crows haphazardly intertwined amongst telephone wires, which connect everything. On the other is a lone figure, face turned from the viewer and lit by a single lamp post. The whole piece is connected by a red line that weaves about each side, becoming black on the smaller sides.
