Title: | Breakfast Train |
Description: | Each "train car" was extruded, and the two open ends were closed. From there, each "car" was modified to fit its purpose (for example, holes were added to fit eggs and toast). The salt, pepper, and jam containers were all thrown on the wheel. All details were added with underglaze before the entire piece was over-glazed with a clear glaze. Growing up in England, my family’s primary form of transportation was trains. I loved to take the train, especially when we would use it to visit friends in the countryside. My sister and I would press our faces up to the windows to watch the world rush by. This piece is inspired by those train rides. Each train car represents a scene you would see outside the train windows. |
