Title: Vortex exploration
Description: I started with coilbuilding; my intention was to create a vortex shape that invited the viewer to look inside. I then added an organic pattern to the outside; the shapes don't reference anything directly but suggest a pattern or language. I used underglaze, referencing the sunset, while the Mishima was used to create strong line and color, tying the exterior to the interior of the form. The carved projections emphasize the instability of the form as it shifts between perceivable dimensions.
