Description: | Disabled student Cassie Johnson (home schooled due to physical health impairments, APS 1) I work with in my Clay By Shea Studio (I am a certified K-12 Art Ed. elem. art teacher, and sculptor). Cassie has found art therapeutic to express her emotions. This is her self-portrait with an attacking snake. The red blood splatters represent her frustrations surrounding her unpredictable and fierce disease's attack on her body. Cassie is an amazingly resilient and kind person who inspires many. Hand-coiled and carved with high-fired stoneware clay and glazes. |
