Title: | Violin |
Description: | This hand-sculpted stoneware violin was finished in an artificial bronze patina. While the proportion of this slightly scaled-down violin are very accurate, the details and texture were modeled with an expressive and textural approach. This piece represents the timelessness of the human connection with music. Some of most valuable instruments (still in use today even) are very old, and brand-new instruments are made very much the same way. Fired stoneware is one of the most durable and lasting materials available to human artistry, and the surface representing aged bronze further connects to ancient humanity. |
