Title: | Sea of Despair |
Description: | For my original idea I wanted to focus on environment pollution and address how sea life is affected by it. I wanted to give it a more literal feel by using a man-made object like I did with an oxygen tank and animal life adapting to the trash in there environment. Nature shouldn’t adapt to our mistakes and I wanted my piece to represent the hardships that’s sea life encounter with pollution. Are used a bunch of different finishes of copper and rusting to create the color of the oxygen tanks and use acrylic to paint the octopus. Are used a high gloss to make the pieces look more wet rather than more and less dimensional. I created the sculpture by first creating the dark gas tank and breaking it open. After I did this I placed the body of the octopus into the oxygen tank and created the tentacles after. I made the finishing touches with the suction cups and detailed by scraping the tank to make it more aged and realistic. |
