Title: | Body Shopping |
Description: | "Body Shopping" is a piece that captures the feeling one experiences having been a victim to domestic and sexual crimes, emphasizing the dehumanization one feels as if their body is partitioned and 'owned' by multiple people and not themselves. Each part of the body is partitioned, glazed, and colored differently to symbolize the people who metaphorically 'own' the person, even years after the events occurred. My works, including my sustained investigation for AP Sculpture, are created to invoke a sense of empathy to the viewer- because it's hard to wrap one's head around the topic of sexual assault looking outward-in. |
