Title: Fungi Teapot
Description: Thrown teapot with textured slip.. Clear glaze over the slip. High-fired in a gas kiln. From the artist: My inspiration for this piece came to me one day while walking in the forest around campus. I kept seeing shelf fungi growing on trre back and fallen branches. The pattern they created gave me the idea of using slip, a thin form of clay, to create similar patterns on a piece. Using this technique on a teapot felt really important to me as I forage for a lot of the tea I drink.
