Title: | Sooted Ridge |
Description: | Sooted Ridge is a ceramic piece that embodies the raw beauty of nature. Its surface, marked by the smokey patterns of the naked raku process, tie together the imperfections and the unpredictable future. The cylindrical form mirrors the contours of a mountain; specifically, a cliff's edge where the lip drops off of the side of the pot. Connecting to unpredictability off each side of an alpine ridge. This piece brings together the elemental forces of fire, earth, and air, which are all frozen in time. Sooted Ridge is the journey from nature's artistry. |
