The white stone represents a pool of memories, and the person emerging from it with form and color demonstrates a reconstruction of identity from past memories. The fact that the person is still in the process of emerging and is not separate from the stone demonstrates the importance of a person's experiences and memories in creating who they are. However, while memories are vital in forming the basis of a person, it is only through choice that identity is created.
