| Title: | Beautiful Gloom |
| Description: | I made this piece to capture the beauty of carnivorous plants. Unable to gather nitrogen from the poor nutrient soil from which they evolved, these plants, determined to live no matter the conditions, developed a one-of-a-kind strategy to survive. Some may find the idea of a plant that captures and slowly digests animals alive as unnerving or gross, and I hope that with this piece, people will see them from a different perspective. These plants are beautiful despite their alien-like appearances, and this artwork is meant to shine a light on their dark, stunning nature. |
