| Title: | Flower Tea Pot |
| Description: | I wheel threw a teapot and then applied dark pink and lighter pink Mayco Fundamentals underglaze slips for a sgraffito carving technique. Then, since I left bands clear of sgraffito design, I painted flowers using underglaze after bisque firing, and then dipped the outside in clear glaze and the inside in Emily's Green and Ben's Blue glaze. The central theme around my sgraffito carving is images of flowers and plants native to Maryland, which are used for teas and hold sentimental value to me. I have included many flowers, but some include Black Eyed Susans, Cherry Flowers, Sweetbay Magnolias, Milkweed, Dandelions, Goldenrod, and Tulip Poplars. |
