| Title: | Bean Jar |
| Description: | I used the wheel to throw a jar and lid. The lid I threw upside-down and used calipers to measure the flange. I trimmed the base to give the jar a rounded shape. I trimmed the lid to create the handle for the lid. I attached handles to the sides of the jar. I used slip and a plastic bag with a whole cut in the corner to pipe on dots of slip. I then used a brush to pull back one side of the slip and create a raised flower like texture. When the jar came out of the kiln I used Amaco Celadon Rainforest as a stain and wiped it away in an uneven way to create more dimension. I put on Amaco Celadon Jade over the entire outside of the Jar. The inside is glazed with Amaco Celadon Snow as a contrast to the green and the beans that would be stored inside. My teacher fired the kiln to cone 6 oxidation. |
