Title: | Bowl Series I |
Description: | It is my honor to present this piece after my one year of experience in pottery. This bowl is made of earthearnware clay, decorated with chattering texture and glazes&underglazes which create a strong contrast between matt (only decorated with underglazes) and glossy (decorated with glazes) surfaces. The inprints found at the bottom, on the outside of the foot and inside the center of the bowl are my signitures in Chinese and intensified with a dark blue underglaze. The rest of the foot is left unglazed. I pushed the mechanical properties of earthenware to its limit and produced this large piece with a wide flare while being extraordinarily thin. The design of this bowl is inspired by a professional artist named Hsin Chuen Lin, from whom I also purchased a trimming tool set that contributed to the creation of this piece. source of inspiration: https://goo.gl/images/y7gHn8 (Written by Yuxuan Sun) |
